I'm Back!

Wow! Moving has kept us SO BUSY! Below is a picture of our moving truck in front of our new house. It was awesome to have my Mom come and stay with us for a few days and play with the kids so that we could get boxes unpacked. We got SO much done, thanks Mom!!

Ella, Mom (Mimi), and Faith in the aprons that she and my Grandma (Gigi) made for them. They even made them matching aprons for their dolls-too cute!

Above is a picture that my Mom took of all of us by our front door. This was before Adam and I went on a date. Thanks, Mom, for loving on the kids while we went on our date. We appreciate you so much!

I also want to share a few special pictures and memories from a day or two before we moved to Indiana.

Our sweet friend, Miss Salma, and her daughter, Jasmine, invited us to their apartment for a party. We made an amazing dessert called "lazy cake". It was so neat how she let the kids help!

Miss Salma wanted to make sure that the kids had as much time as they wanted to lick the chocolate from the bowl! My kids were in heaven :)

While the lazy cake (recipe below) was in the freezer, Miss Salma had the kids paint T-shirts with glow in the dark paint!! She even had purses for the girls to paint--including me! She gave Ethan a batman iron-on instead of a purse--so sweet!!

Recipe:This refrigerated cake-like sweet is very famous back in Jordan. Miss Salma is from Jordan. It is not a real cake actually, no flour or egg is used, no baking is required, so it’s so easy that anyone can make, that’s why it’s called “Lazy Cake”. It can be prepared and kept in the freezer to take it out in any emergency unexpected visits, that your guests will be surprised how you made it that fast with that great chocolaty taste.

• 1 box Marie biscuits, coarsely crushed
• 6 tbsp Hershey's cocoa
• 2 cans sweetened condensed milk
• 1 Tbsp vanilla

1. Mix sweetened condensed milk, vanilla, and cocoa until smooth. Add mixture to biscuits.
2. Form mix into log or press into loaf pan that has been lined with plastic wrap. Secure the log, and press to combine very well and wrap. Cover with more wrap and freeze for few hours or overnight.
3. To serve, dip sharp knife in hot water and slice.

It was hard say goodbye to everyone! Below is a picture of Faith with one of her best buddies, Jerry. She was telling me in the car tonight how much she missed him.

This is a picture of the kids with Munir. He was always so kind to us. The kids called him "The Mint Man" for a long time because he would give them peppermints every time he saw them.

This is a picture of the people that work in the office in our building. They were so nice to always let us come in and visit Miss Amy (in the white) and Bryan (with the striped tie).

Below is a picture of Ethan holding the hand of a lady that he called "my special friend". She didn't speak English, so it was hard to understand each other. However, she was always so friendly to us!

Our last night in MN we went to a Rochester Honkers baseball game with the Gora family!!

Here is Slider the mascot greeting all the fans in the bleachers! Thanks to Miss Amy for pulling some strings so that the kids could go on the field and play fun games! They had a blast!!!

The Gora family invited us to spend our last night in MN at their house instead of heading to IN that evening. We enjoyed spending extra time together, and they prayed for each of us specifically before bedtime. We filled up an entire trash can full of tissues between all of us. It was so hard to say goodbye. I haven't cried that much in a long time. However, we are going to Rochester to visit them in August!! We can't wait!

We are also really enjoying settling into our new home and getting to spend extra time with family that we didn't use to get to see very often.
