We have enjoyed learning about seahorses during our visits to the Underwater Aquarium at the Mall of America. I find it fascinating that the male seahorse carries the babies. I remembered this book about seahorses by Eric Carle, so I decided to check it out from the library. It discusses how several types of male fish take care of the eggs. For example: A male tilapia holds hundreds of eggs in his mouth until they are ready to hatch. He then spits them all out! We enjoyed the YouTube video below of Mr. Seahorse having his babies!
